Previously, this was a hospital for pilgrims and lepers. Inside this Gothic-style temple there was a magnificent Plateresque main altarpiece from the 16th century, made up of 8 panels painted by Juan de Flandes, which are currently distributed between the Prado Museum and the National Gallery in Washington.
